Joni S. Powell

FUQUAY-VARINA - Joni S. Powell 61, passed away Thursday at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Fort Valley, Georgia to the late Manuel & Dorothy Tapley-Smith, Joni spent her childhood living

in Wharton, Texas before moving to North Carolina.

She is survived by her brother Jeffrey (Staci) Smith of Royse City, Texas; a sister Leslea Smith of the

home and two brothers Alfred and Michael that preceded her in death. Joni was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Powell.

Surviving to mourn the loss of their beloved aunt are Kyle (Jessica) Smith of Waller, Texas and Ty Smith

of Madison, Tennessee and two great nephews, Noah and Abel Smith of Waller, Texas.

Joni leaves numerous family and friends to mourn her passing among them was her special friend Kyle

Stephenson.

Funeral service to be held at Hilltop Church, 10212 Fayetteville Road, Fuquay Varina on Monday,

October 24th at 12 noon.
