Jordi Anne Calloway, 68, of Cary, North Carolina, passed away on December 9th, 2024. She was born in November of 1956 in Lincoln, Nebraska and grew up in Titusville, Florida. Daughter to Madolyn and Raymond Lunde. As a child, Jordi was quiet, spunky and enjoyed spending time with her dad tinkering in the garage.
Jordi served four years in the United States Air Force at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota. She worked as a Missile Facilities Specialist and was responsible for the maintenance of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM). Before her honorable discharge she earned an Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Longevity Service Award, and a Good Conduct Medal. North Dakota was also where she earned a soulmate. It was here where Jordi met the love of her life, David. The two dated, eventually reuniting in Raleigh, North Carolina, and married in 1982.
While in Raleigh, Jordi attended and graduated from Wake Technical Community College with an Associates Degree in Data Processing. The two would go on to live in New York, New Jersey, and Virginia, growing their family, before settling in Cary, North Carolina in 1994. Jordi took great pride raising her two children, Beth and John. She always made sure they knew they were loved and supported through reading them books, art projects, and adventures around town. As her children grew older she found comfort in spending time with her dog, Casey.
In 2001, Jordi and David set out to start a financial planning practice with Thrivent Financial. They united their unique skill sets, going on to build a successful practice together, and serving their clients with the utmost care and respect until her retirement in 2018.
Jordi is survived by her children and their spouses, Beth and Scott Kerby and John and Christen Calloway, her grandchildren who called her Grams Sandra and Owen Calloway, her two sisters and brother-in-law, Anita and John Barra and Lauren Lunde.
