It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of the beloved member J. E. Eddie Coleman. Dedicated to God, his family, many friends his heart held more love than could be held by most. After a courageous battle with cancer he passed to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father in the evening of Tuesday, January 29, 2013. We make ourselves joyful to know this gentle soul is eternally happy, leaving us loving memories to be cherished by all who knew Eddie. He was born to James H. and Margie M. Coleman. Preceded in death by his parents; Vera Honey Watkins, Mother in law; and Lynda Tysdale, his first wife. He attended Broughton High School, and NCSU. He was with the US Postal Service for 43 years service, and district secretary and treasurer of AFLCIO for 9 years. Eddie is survived by wife of 38 years, Christopher W. Coleman; brother, J.H. Coleman Jr. and family. Sister, Lynette C. Ostrowski and family; and special friends, Chris Kirks, Marvin Jackson, Johnny Hartsfield and Billy Brunner. Special thanks to past and present staff at Christophers Hairstyling, Wake County Hospice House and many loving nieces and nephews, in particular Jane Holcomb, sister-in-law and Christopher Holcomb, nephew. The visitation will be Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:30 pm in the Bryan-Lee Chapel with internment to follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
