Joseph Dzingeleski, of Garner, North Carolina left this earth to be with our merciful God on June 4, 2016. Joe was born on January 5, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Adena, Ohio. He wrote extensively about his history and fond memories of Adena at http://www.adenanews.com/. He was an altar server at St. Casimir Church in his youth and was an expert accordion player even playing on the radio as a child. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force and an Ohio State Varsity “O” athlete, lettering in baseball in 1957. As a pitcher for the Ohio State baseball team he had special memories of his time travelling & playing with his team in the Far East and Hawaii. Joe worked in the coal mines as a young man but spent most of his career as a supervisor in the Trucking industry. His had a passion for bowling & loved to golf where he made many friends. He greatly enjoyed his most recent Senior League at Buffaloe Lanes in Garner, NC and his golf league in Ohio. Joe loved a beautiful rose and tended to many, his favorite rose was the “Josephs Coat”. The best part of his life was spent as a loving husband, father & grandfather. He was a devoted family man and always passionately shared his values and traditions. He had such pride in and treasured his family, especially his grandchildren. He and his beloved wife Barb created a beautiful family. They had four children - Becky Dzingeleski, Beth (Mike) Pavelka, Joe (Ellen) Dzingeleski and Jon Dzingeleski, seven grandchildren - Theresa (Brandon) Callahan, Jonny Dzingeleski, Anthony (Kristen) Dilisio, Brittany Dzingeleski, Michael Pavelka, Meghan Pavelka, Joey Dzingeleski and two great grandsons, Levi and Luke Callahan. Joe’s family shared a lifetime of love and we are grateful for precious memories that will always be. It was a gift to him to be at home with his family while his journey on earth ended. He is together again in heaven with his one true love and cherished wife Barbara who passed in 2014. We know for sure that they will always love and watch over us, until we see them again, “eventually” We wish blessings for and give special thanks to his most cherished caregiver, Judy Grove and to Transitions Hospice Care for their passionate care and guidance. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 11th at Bryan Lee Funeral Home on Benson Road in Garner, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 with a prayer service beginning at 2:00. Joe & Barb will be at their final resting place in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman Ohio at a future date. In lieu of flowers the family encourages your donation to a favorite charity. Transitions Hospice Care and Wake County Meals on Wheels were special organizations that really meant a lot to Joe.
