ANGIER - Joseph M. Pleasant, 90, passed away Saturday. A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late Marion Benton and Julia Langdon Pleasant.Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at Angier United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.Mr. Pleasant served in the U.S. Army during World War II and graduated from N.C. State University .He owned and operated Pleasant Farms until retirement.He enjoyed water skiing, golf, fishing, hunting, piloting an airplane and watching all types of sporting events; especially N.C. State.The most important thing in his life was family where he dedicated his time and resources.Mr. Pleasant is survived by his wife of 65 years Wilmar Kearney Pleasant; sons, Joseph M. Pleasant, Jr. and wife, Vicki Smith of Charlotte, Ray K. Pleasant and wife, Madeline Zacny of Angier, W. Kenneth Pleasant and wife, Cindy Cunningham of Raleigh; sisters, Sue P. Ogburn of Angier, Doris P. Barnes and husband, Jack of Southern Pines; grandchildren, Nathaniel Kearney Pleasant, William Andrew Pleasant, Adam Langdon Pleasant, Jason Ray Pleasant, Tracy Leigh Pleasant, Blair Wegner Charlebois, Travis Wegner, Mary-Kensley Pleasant, Coleman Elizabeth Pleasant; great-grandchildren, Waylon Lee Pleasant, Grayson Smith Pleasant.In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sisters, Gladys Langdon, Billie Lassiter, Maxine Denning, Rachel Peterson, Christine Pleasant; brothers, Willard Pleasant, and M.B. Pleasant, Jr.The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 Monday night at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Angier United Methodist Church, P.O.
