Joseph Raymond Rich, Jr.

Joseph Raymond Rich Jr. (Joe) died February 12, 2018 in Raleigh, NC due to complications following long-term illness. He was 72. Mr. Rich was born on February 28, 1945 in Macon, GA to his parents, Hazel Medlin and Joseph Raymond Rich Sr. Joe Graduated from Cary Senior High in 1963, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Pamela Watkins. Joe and Pam were loving parents to 4 children, raised in Garner NC, where Joe became a home builder and skilled carpenter. Mr. Rich is survived by wife of 56 years, Pamela Watkins Rich; sons Marty Rich (Jean), Chuck Rich (Jo), Danny Rich (Jeanette), and daughter Kerry Rich (Karen); brother Jack Rich (Linda) and sister Cathy Rich; and nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents Joseph Raymond Rich Sr. and Hazel Medlin Rich. The Rich family would like to extend appreciation to the administration staff, nursing staff and caregivers at Hillcrest of Raleigh for their kindness during his time with them. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 4:00pm at Bryan Lee Funeral Home in Garner NC. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mr. Rich’s life.  The family will receive friends briefly following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 3739 National Dr, Raleigh, NC 27612.
