ANGIER – Joyce Parrish Carter, 92, passed away on Wednesday surrounded by
her four girls, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandbabies. Born in Harnett
County, she was the daughter of the late Eddie Lester Parrish and Margaret
Ethel Langdon.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 1 st at 11:00 am at Angier United
Methodist Church. Burial will follow the service at Lakeside Memorial Gardens,
Angier. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 30 th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Members of the family may also be found at
other times at the Carter residence.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Peggy C. Banks (C.B.) of Angier; Lou Ann C.
Beasley (Jimmy) of Angier, Cathy C. Dunn (Tony) of Angier, and Amy C. King of
Angier; grandchildren, Adam Banks, Megan Gurkin (Walt), Tonya Baker (David),
Christina Sweet (Andrew), Cody Dunn (Parrish), Garrett King (Kayla), and Dylan
King; great-grandchildren, Jackson Baker, Grayson Gurkin, Caroline Baker,
Addison Dunn, Brynlee Dunn, Grady Gurkin, Anderson Dunn; sister-in-law,
Mozelle Price of Angier.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42
years, Carson Carter; siblings, Rebeth Mitchell, Thelma Mason, Rupert Parrish,
Raeford Parrish, Audrey Burtchette, and Marva Whittington; and son-in-law,
Darryl King.
