Joyce S. Sawvel

Willow Spring – Joyce S. Sawvel, 81, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021. Born in Minneapolis, MN, she was the daughter of the late Ervin K. and Inez V. Sohns. Joyce dedicated many years at home to being a mother and later worked as a nutritionist at local schools and hospitals. Joyce was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 11th at 11:00 AM at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Fuquay-Varina. A celebration of life luncheon will be held following the graveside for friends and family at the home of Scott and Debbie Sawvel, 8136 Mount Pleasant Church Rd. Willow Spring, NC 27592. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 62 years, David Le Roy Sawvel; children, Jill Sawvel of Angier, Lisa Halloran and husband, Jim of West Jefferson, Scott Sawvel and wife, Debbie of Willow Spring, and Jeff Sawvel and wife, Valentina of Willow Spring; grandchildren, Clinton Sawvel and wife, Sarah of Willow Spring, Timothy Sawvel and wife, Nicole of Eagle River, AK, Samantha Currin and husband, Jon of Raleigh, Joseph Sawvel and wife, Autumn of Willow Spring, Julie White and husband, Darin of Angier, Anthony Halloran of West Jefferson, and a grandson-in-law, Van Barbour; great grandchildren, Maddie, Noah, Levi, Isaac, and Oakleigh Barbour, Eli and Joey Sawvel, Rodger and Amelia Currin, Blakely and Georgia Sawvel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Sohns; daughter, Kim Werbelow; granddaughter, Rachel Barbour; and great grandson, Neal Sawvel.
