Judy Wheeler Adams

ANGIER - Judith “Judy” Wheeler Adams, 77, of Angier, died Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Neill's Creek Baptist Church in Angier. Burial to follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens on Oak Grove Church Rd. in Angier. Judy graduated from Campbell University and began a career in education. She taught school in Harnett County teaching elementary to high school students. She was principal at Wayne Avenue School in Dunn and was principal at Coats Erwin Middle School. After retiring from teaching/education she worked at the Central Office mentoring new teachers. Judy was a lifelong member of Neill’s Creek Baptist Church where she was a Deacon and served in various other roles including teaching Sunday School for over 50 years. Judy led many bible studies for women and was always involved in VBS. Her family will truly miss her famous Sunday lunches! After church, she treated her children and any other lucky guests to a delicious home cooked meal. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Reddin and Ethel Wheeler, her husband, Curtis Franklin Adams, her son, Curtis F. Adams, Jr., and a brother, Ronnie Wheeler. She is survived by her sons, Bartley W. Adams and wife, Nancy; Alex A. Adams and wife, Leigh; daughter in law, Tiffany Adams Edmiston; and six grandchildren, Victoria Adams, Paige Adams, Jackson Adams, Andrew “Drew” Adams, Lilla “Lily” Adams, Benjamin “Benny” Adams and her precious dog “Pepper” of the home. The family will receive friends Friday, October 1st from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Judy’s home in Angier.
