RALEIGH – Julia Ruth Norris Beasley, 88, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at home in Wake County. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the funeral home; and other times at the home of Janice Sais. Ruth was born in Angier, NC on July 29, 1930 to the late James and Esther Norris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Beasley; brothers, Avant, John, Robert and Wilbert “Shorty” Norris; and by her sisters, Lovenia Hamilton, Christine Norris, and Katherine Searcy. She is survived by her brothers, Aaron Norris of Goldsboro; twin sister, Ruby Baker of Angier; sisters, Betty Norris, Janice Sais both of Raleigh, Mary Owens of Cumming, GA; and a host of extended family. Ruth never birthed a child but was mother to many and loved by all. Her Christmas Eve open house was a tradition that will be remembered by everyone. She loved to give silver dollars to the children. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at Kennels Beach. She dearly loved all her family, friends, and church family Arrangements by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
