RALEIGH- Julian Frances Bridges Penny, 72, passed away on Sunday surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Beatrice Pleasant Bridges. Julian retired from a career with Dorothea Dix Hospital after more than 30 years of service. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Entombment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Clayton. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 pm Monday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Capps and husband, Andy; son, Robert Hicks and wife, Robin; son, Jeff Penny and wife, Sarah; daughter, Jessie Thompson and husband, Dale; grandchildren, Carmen Hicks, Nikki Birdsong, Summer Boykin, Leslie Boykin, Lindsie Boykin, Mary Ann Penny, Autumn Penny, Michael Thompson; great-grandson, Joseph Boykin; brothers, Pete Bridges and wife, Evelyn, Clarence Bridges; sisters, Addie Jordan and husband, P.C., Darlene Dupree and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Julian was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Penny; sister, Doris Hilliard; brother, Jay Bridges.
