b. April 29, 1919

Julian Herman Buffaloe, 95, went home to be with his Lord on Friday. He was wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. Born April 29, 1919 to Atlas and Lillian Crocker Buffaloe, Julian was one of nine children. He grew up working on the family farm assuming family responsibilities at a very young age. He was a man of great faith who loved the outdoors. Julian was known for his generosity to his family and to people who needed his help; often giving away products of his yearly garden and farm; willing to help many people who were down on their luck.He was a retired dairy and livestock farmer as well as landlord of rental properties. As a business man, he served on the Board of Directors of Raleigh Production Credit Association for several years. He was dependable; always as good as his word. He believed in hard work as a valuable ingredient for building a strong character which he taught his sons. During WWII, he worked German prisoners housed at Camp Butner, NC on his farm and made lasting friendships even though he could not speak German.Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Monday at Faith Bible Fellowship, Raleigh. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. A lifetime resident of Wake County, he married the joy of his life and his high school sweetheart, Doris Lawrence in 1941. They were married 73 years. He is survived by his wife Doris and one son: Julian Lawrence Buffaloe and his wife Ann of Fayetteville; daughter-in-law Brenda Buffaloe of Raleigh; four grandchildren: Laura Raynor and husband Patrick and Alan Buffaloe and wife Lise, all of Fayetteville; David Buffaloe and wife Karen of Raleigh; Bryan Buffaloe and wife Alissa of Creedmoor, NC. He was blessed with 14 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.He was pre-deceased by son, Dwight Buffaloe, grandson, Ken Buffaloe; brothers, Floyd, Russell, Eugene, Curtis; four sisters, Mae, Linda, Aileen, and Maynette. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to care givers Faye Johnson and Mary Whitbey, and the health care teamsThe family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church.Memorial Contributions may be made to Faith Bible Fellowship Church, 1905 Garner Glen Dr. Raleigh, NC 27603.
