Julie Ann Reses

July 3, 1958 — April 26, 2021

HOLLY SPRINGS - Julie Ann Reses, 62, of Holly Springs, North Carolina, passed away on April 26, 2021 after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Julie was born on July 3, 1958, to parents Odus Andrew Moore and Virginia Mae Hill in Dorchester, Maryland. After high school, Julie studied for two years at Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, Maryland. After her years at college, Julie pursued her passion of retail management. Julie’s success was capped by her managerial role with Lady Foot Locker. Julie then began working at Reses Pharmacy in Pleasantville, New Jersey, where she met her husband Jeffrey in 1989. Julie and Jeffrey were married on February 9, 1992. Julie and Jeffrey had a son, Philip, and a daughter, Abigail. A loving marriage of 29 years blossomed, and the two renewed their vows in Honolulu, Hawaii, four years ago. Julie eventually longed to retire to pursue the projects she had put on hold during her working years. Julie was a force to be reckoned with when a sewing machine, a thread and needle, and any type of fabric or material came across her worktable. Julie was a visionary, creating and crafting pillows, curtains, purses, and handbags that adorned every inch of her house. When COVID-19 emerged, Julie got right to work fashioning face masks for hospitals, friends, and family. When Julie wasn’t at her worktable, she was creating Michelin star worthy meals. Julie’s talent in the kitchen was undeniable and every meal was made with love. Julie and Jeffrey spent many relaxing evenings together, watching TV with their dogs Melvin and Maisy, while Julie worked on a crossword or a challenging cryptoquip puzzle. As an avid reader, Julie’s Kindle never left her side. Julie was predeceased by her mother, Virginia, and her father, Odus. Julie is survived by her husband, Jeffrey; her son, Philip; her daughter, Abigail; her brother, Michael; her half-sister Becky; and her beloved dogs, Melvin and Maisy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to The Michael J. Neustadter Pancreatic Cancer Fund. Funeral services will be held privately at Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery, presided over by Rabbi Ariel Edery. Arrangements are by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home of Raleigh.
