Julie Sykes Upchurch

Raleigh - Julie Sykes Upchurch, 75, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Julie was born September 29, 1935 in Franklin County, NC to the late Reid and Annie Sykes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline. Julie, a long time member of Hayes Barton Church, retired from Tyler House after 42 years of faithful employment. A Graveside service will be held Friday at 11 AM at the Peachtree Baptist Church cemetery, 3523 N. NC Hwy 581 Spring Hope, NC 27882 She is survived by her husband Dan, sons, Gary Upchurch and wife, Frances of Greensboro; Gregory Upchurch and wife, Tania of Wilmington. Grandchildren, Allison Williams and husband, Ragan; Sarah Upchurch; Britton Upchurch; Isaac Upchurch; Emily Upchurch and Callaway Upchurch. Great-grandson, Sawyer Williams. Brothers, J.G. Sykes and wife, Sue of Rocky Mount; Alvin Sykes of Spring Hope; Charles Sykes and wife, Betty of Emporia, VA and Everett Sykes and wife, Sallie Ann of Reidsville.
