June Carolyn Henthorne

June C. Henthorne was born on September 1, 1939 in Rochester New York, daughter of Donald and Hazel Blum. June graduated Brighton High School in 1959, and went on to attend Vermont College and Rochester Business Institute. In 1961 she met and married Nelson Henthorne and continued life in Penfield, New York until 1971. Since 1972 they have been located in Raleigh North Carolina. During her working life she held various jobs in the Raleigh area where she met many of her dear friends. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where she served on the board of deacons for many years. She later joined Longview Baptist Church where she is currently a member. June passed away peaceful in her sleep on Saturday June 6, 2020, after suffering for many months in pain. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Nelson Henthorne of Raleigh; her daughter, Debbie Goldston of Raleigh; grandson, Billy Goldston, Jr (Nicole), and granddaughter, Ashlee Goldston, both of Raleigh; many dear friends. June is also survived by her sister Joyce O’Neil of Margate, FL and 4 nieces. She is preceded in death by her son David Henthorne She will truly be missed by her family and friends. Many of us remember her as Mama June, the name her grandson gave her. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wake County SPCA, 200 Petfinder Lane, Raleigh, NC 27604.
