Justine R. Piper

RALEIGH – Justine R. Piper, 93, of Raleigh, NC, was received into the heavenly arms of her Savior, as she died in her sleep at Sunrise of North Hills in the morning hours of Tuesday, January 30, 2024.

Justine was born in Halifax County on June 28, 1930, the daughter of the late George and Forest Robertson. In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jimmy T. Piper, who died in 2015. Justine and Jimmy were married on the 12th of February, 1956, at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh.

Justine began her career with Southern Bell, and received numerous promotions along the way. As a supervisor with AT&T she had many ladies under her leadership. She retired from AT&T following many years of dedicated service.

Beloved by many, Justine was an active member and deacon at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Raleigh. Prior to her decline in health, she served in various roles and committees such as the pastor search committee, bereavement committee, and along with Jimmy would visit the home-bound members of the church.

Justine is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 5, 2024, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Raleigh. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh.
