Karen Keiger Mertz

ANGIER – Karen Keiger Mertz, 72, passed away Monday at her home. Born in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of her father, Charles F. Keiger, Sr. and wife, Gay of Cape Canaveral, FL and her mother, the late Willie Brownlow Keiger.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 23rd at 11:00 am in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

Karen is survived by her husband of 25 years, John Mertz; daughter, Julia Vo (Kha) of Raleigh; brothers, John Keiger (Mary) of Winston-Salem, and Charles “Chip” Keiger (Brenda) of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Ryder and Micah Vo of Raleigh; and her beloved rescue dog, Shadow.
