Karen Kessler Palmisano

January 19, 1955 — December 10, 2020

CREEDMOOR - Karen Kessler Palmisano, age 65 of Creedmoor, NC passed away on December 10, 2020. Born on January 19, 1955, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Kessler. Karen, who was born in Massachusetts, grew up in Branford, CT. She is survived by her husband, Alfred Palmisano; and three children, her favorite, Andrew (Kathy) Palmisano of Raleigh, NC; David Palmisano of Boulder, CO; and Kelly (Mike) Shumway of Madison, CT; her siblings, John Jr. Kessler (Kathy) and Cheryl Milovich (late husband Tim); her grandchildren, Kira, Miles, Mason and Wyatt; her nieces and nephews Zachary, Kayleen and Karlee. Nothing was more important to Karen than her family. Her family and her children were always her top priority. On top of that everyone she met became instant family. She had the endless gift of gab, she loved herself a good yard sale, pouring herself a raspberry vodka while sitting by the ocean, attending a Carolina Hurricanes hockey game and spoiling her grandchildren rotten. She was an avid sports fan who loved UConn women’s basketball, the Boston Red Sox and the NY Giants. She loved the holidays and a good party. There was no one she wouldn’t welcome into her home. She has many “sons and daughters” across NC and CT. She hated to be told she couldn’t do something, she loved to be pampered at the hair salon and would drop whatever she was doing for anyone, anywhere. She loved her animals and kept a small zoo around her at all times. Karen at a young age started working at Captain Nick’s restaurant, then as a substitute teacher in East Haven and finished her career at the Madison Rec department. Her children would like to say a huge THANK YOU to their father for his endless love and caretaking of their mother during her final months. There will be a celebration in Connecticut of Karen’s life when the pandemic restrictions are lifted. The family will give proper notice to everyone at that time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Saving Grace Animals for adoption in Wake Forest, NC by visiting https://savinggracenc.org/donate-now/ Arrangements are by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home of Raleigh.
