Karen Mary Werner

Karen Mary Werner, 65, passed away on Monday January 2, 2023 peacefully after a short illness. Born in Central Falls, R.I. to Rita and Raymond Lapierre.

She was a loving wife and a devoted mother to her son Rob. Family and friends were the most important thing to her. She worked for Verizon as a manager of special services for 27 years. Retired since 2008, Karen and family moved from Long Island N.Y. to Raleigh N.C. In 2011. Karen was a care giver to her parents. She loved to cook and enjoyed hosting dinner parties for friends and family. She also loved to bowl, something she did since childhood. Karen love her hockey and was a huge fan of the New York Islanders. Karen enjoyed going to concerts and going to see shows on broadways when living in New York.

Karen is survived by her husband Robert of 42 years. son, Rob Werner; mother, Rita Lapierre; sister, Shelia Beard; brother-in-law, James Beard; brother-in-law Andrew Werner sister-in-law a Elyse Werner and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Services for Karen will be at 1:00 PM Monday, January 9, 2023 at Bryan-Lee funeral home in Garner. There will be a gathering for friends and family to follow.
