Raleigh- Kathy Holt Sorrell, 68, of Raleigh, North Carolina, entered her heavenly home on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at 9:28 PM. Her family and friends that she leaves behind while heartbroken beyond words, rejoice in the fact she is now with her Lord and Savior, and the loved ones we lost before.
Kathy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved the Lord and had a servant’s heart. To know her was to love her and if you were blessed enough to really know her, you knew how powerful and strong her love was for her family. It was a sacrificial type of love. She would always make sure her family was taken care of above all else, including herself. She adored her husband of 36 years, and during that time you could probably count on one hand how many nights they ever spent apart. Her greatest treasure on earth was being a mother and grandmother.
Kathy loved her home and all that knew her know how much pride she took in the care she put into it. She loved the holiday’s and decorating her home gave her so much joy. She strived to make her home a place where all that entered felt welcome. Her most favorite thing in this world was going to her other home in Emerald Isle, North Carolina, with family, friends, and her two precious pugs. To put it simply, she would always say, “I love my little place!”.
For nearly 30 years, she owned and operated Buga-Bears Day Care and for nearly 30 years, parents entrusted her to care for their babies. Kathy loved her “Buga Bears”, just as if they were her own.
Kathy is survived by the love of her life, husband, Bobby Frank Sorrell, Jr.; daughter, Desiree “Dizzy”, her husband, John Arch McClamroch, Jr., and their daughters, Halei, and Rylei McClamroch; son, Chris Sorrell, and his daughters, Valarie, Gracie, and Samantha Sorrell; sister, Debbie Jernigan; and niece, Nicole Foster, and husband, Michael Foster.
Our lives will never be the same without her here with us, but she will love in our hearts forever. We will cherish and recount precious memories we had with her, all while knowing this is not Goodbye, but until we meet again.
