ANGIER – Kay Chatham Ennis, 73, passed away at her daughter’s home in Columbia, SC surrounded by family. Her celebration of life will be May 22nd at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church in Angier, NC where she was an active member. The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm at the church, with the service starting at 4 pm. Kay was born to the late John Benjamin and Frances McGee Chatham and grew up in Willow Spring, NC. She worked many years as an assistant in the Wake County Public School System. She started her career at AV Baucom in Apex and retired from Willow Spring Elementary School. Kay is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Kenneth D. Ennis; two daughters, Bridget Parker (Nelson) of Fuquay-Varina and Corrie Campbell (Joseph) of Columbia, SC; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Kay will be missed by her brother, John Chatham (Brenda) of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Donna Goodwin (Darryl) of Clayton; sister-in-law, JoAnne Turlington of Coats; life-long friend, Patsy Journey of Willow Spring, many nieces, nephews, and countless other family and friends. Friends and family will gather at the home of Bridget Parker. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Prisma Health at www.prismahealthmidlandsfoundation.org or Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church in Kay’s memory.
