Kay Holland Rigsbee, age 84 passed into the arms of Jesus on December 14, 2016. After 80 full years of great health, Kay spent the past 4 years fighting several illnesses. Her family and friends witnessed miracle after miracle as she prayed like it all depended on her Lord but fought like it all depended on her. Though she suffered in these last years, she continued to exude love wherever she was. She won the hearts of nurses and staff, who fell in love with her sweet spirit that was contagious. They experienced the same unconditional love that her family and friends had been blessed with all her years. Kays love for family began when she was born September 10, 1932 to her parents she adored, the late Brodie and Alene Holland in Angier, NC. She recently celebrated 65 years of marriage to her husband, Estes Rigsbee. She is also survived by her daughter Debra Kay Rigsbee of Garner, son Craig Rigsbee of Swansboro; brother Larry Holland of Garner; grandchildren Alan Braswell and his wife Cari of Clayton, Ashley Braswell and his wife Lorie of Raleigh, and Amanda Kay Braswell Jorgenson and her husband Kirk of Raleigh; great grand children Taylor and Tucker Braswell and Aubreigh Kay, Bayleigh and Brody Jorgenson. Her youngest great granddaughter, Lydia Hope Braswell went onto Heaven before her. She was preceded in death by her siblings she treasured, Millie Boyles, Linda Smith and Leamon Holland. Kays life will be celebrated Saturday December 17, 2016 at Bryan Lee Funeral Chapel at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Clayton. The family will receive friends from 12-1 prior to service. Memorial contributions may be made to St Andrews UMC Building Fund, 201 Maxwell Drive, Raleigh NC 27603.
