Kellylynn Durrence Boone

BUNNLEVEL - KellyLynn Durrence Boone, 44, of Bunnlevel, NC peacefully went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday after a courageous and hard-fought four-year battle with breast cancer with her husband by her side. There have been many family members and friends who have supported her throughout her battle.

KellyLynn Boone was preceded in death by her mother Cindy Sue Harris.

She is survived by her husband, Nicholas Boone; daughters, Cynthia Trogdon, Skyler Boone; sister, Holly Durrence Rathbone (Chad Rathbone); nephews, Chad Rathbone, Jr., Jackson Rathbone, Damian Rathbone; father, Darrell Allen Durrence; and numerous other family members and beloved pets. She also has many others that she deeply cared for in her work that can be considered extended family in the Central Virginia region.

KellyLynn grew up in Homestead, FL and graduated from Hillside High School (1997). She came to Richmond, Virginia in 2008. During that time, she worked as an assistant to an attorney and agents practicing real estate. KellyLynn was outstanding at what she did and branched off to open her own real estate transaction business assisting agents in 2014. She truly made a name for herself and built a reputation for the best service with integrity, gratitude and cheerfulness. No matter how KellyLynn’s day was going, she would never hesitate to ask how she could help others.

KellyLynn moved to Bunnlevel, NC in 2017, but continued to run her company for real estate agents back in Virginia. KellyLynn married Nicholas Boone seven years ago in an outdoor ceremony in Rockville, Va. He has been a devoted husband, father, and caregiver over the years that KellyLynn has needed cancer support.

When KellyLynn was diagnosed and subsequently started treatments, even on her most challenging days she continued with to be cheerful, wanting to help others regardless of how she was feeling. Her treatment journey had many twists and turns. One of the joys in the midst of all of her challenges was being nominated to attend Leslie’s Week as an honored guest in the summer of 2023 in Tennessee. There, KellyLynn grew her light and expanded her network of friends on the same journey.

KellyLynn Boone’s life will be celebrated at the same location that she and Nick were married. The Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday May 16th at 12:00 pm with lunch to follow at the same location. Please bring a covered dish to share in fellowship after the ceremony.
