Kenneth Lorraine Mizell

Garner - Kenneth (Ken) Lorraine Mizell, 75, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, January 14, 2022. He was born in McCook, Nebraska to Kenneth and Elaine Von Schutz Mizell. Ken served in the United States Army Security Agency in Vietnam. He was a life-long Boy Scout, working at the troop level, the Ochineechee District and Council. He served on the staff of Boy Scout National Jamborees and escorted scouts to the high adventure base at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Ken was a proud member of the United States Sail and Power Squadron (America’s Boating Club), serving in many positions including commander of the Raleigh and Fort Macon squadrons. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Paula Fisher Mizell; daughter Evelyn Lorraine (Lorrie) Mizell Olexa and her husband Stephen also of Garner; son Kenneth William Mizell; daughter Amy Cathleen Mizell; granddaughter MacKenzie Mizell and grandson Matthew Mizell; sister Coleen Ellis of Alliance, NE, and sister Sherry Feagins of Omaha, NE. Visitation and viewing are scheduled for Wednesday, January 19 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee in Garner. In lieu of flowers, you may send a donation to the Boy Scouts of America.
