Kevin Ray Powell

Kevin Ray Powell July 19, 1975 – July 13, 2021 ANGIER – Kevin Ray Powell, 45, passed away Tuesday. Born in New Hanover County, he was the son of Raymond Wright Powell, Jr. and Mary Lucille Walker Powell. Kevin proudly served for 23 years with the Cary Police Department and was a member of NC LEAP. He enjoyed wood working and creating very unique pieces. He was a master craftsman with a beautiful mind creating beautiful artistry. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, July 16, 2021 at Highland Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am -12:00 pm prior to the service. In addition to his parents, Kevin is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mary Powell; his twin daughters, Haley Elizabeth Powell and Lauren Ashley Powell, of the home, as well as his beloved canine companions, Ziva, Holly, Daisy and Bella. He was preceded in death by brothers, Harlan Ray Powell and Brian Scott Powell.
