Kirby “Buster” Hill

Buster was born in Sampson County at the home in Newton Grove, NC on 5-8-1936.

He attended school in Newton Grove, NC until he joined the Army at the age of 18. After serving his country, he came to Raleigh where he worked for Newcomb and Company. He enjoyed working for Newcomb and Company for 39 years and retired in March of 1999.

Buster married Betty in 1962 and had two children, Angie and Sharon. He loved his family and enjoyed trips to the beach, fishing, watching Nascar races and spending time with Betty and their grandchildren.

Buster led a full wonderful life of 88 years and sadly passed away 11-30-24 at Rex Hospital with family by his side.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Kirby Hill and Lizzie Johnson; sister, Bonnie (Bart) Melvin; brothers, William (Myrtle) Hill, and John (Violet) Hill.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Hill.

He is survived by his daughters: Angie (Biff) Partin, Sharon Howard, Grandchildren; Kristin (Joe) Ommundsen, Jonathan Partin, Ashley (Cameron) King, Brooke (Richard) Knight and 3 great grandchildren and many wonderful nephews and nieces.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 6-8 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Rd. Garner, NC 27529.

A funeral will take place on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
