Larry Douglas Mccluskey

June 17, 1941 — June 13, 2021

Larry D. McCluskey, 79, passed away Sunday at Wake Medical Center. Born in Greensboro, NC, he was the son of the late Charles and Lillie McCluskey. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Garner United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to the service. Mr. McCluskey retired as a Vice President from First Citizens Bank after 35 years of service and was a lifetime member of the Garner Civitan Club, the Wake County Wildlife Club, and Garner United Methodist Church. In addition, he served 30 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ann McCluskey; daughter, Cindy Hudson and her sons, Brighton and Jordan Hudson; daughter, Leigh Ann Summers (Joey) and their daughter, Chandler and son, Christian; sister, Phyllis Marshall. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, W.C.Hudson, Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in his memory to the DI4W Foundation (W.C. Hudson Memorial Fund), c/o Hollands United Methodist Church, 9433 Ten Ten Rd., Raleigh, NC 27603.
