Lauren Renee, 34, passed away unexpectedly on, November 18, 2024. She was born in Somerset County, New Jersey, and was the daughter of Michael Brown and Brenda Jones.
Lauren was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. She never failed to light up a room with her energy and love for others. She always found joy in the small things in life and particularly enjoyed watching sunrises and sunsets. She will be missed enormously and will forever be remembered for all the joy and love she brought to our lives.
Lauren had a love for the arts, theatre, movies, music, travelling and K-pop. She loved the Korean scene so much that she learned to speak, read and converse in Korean, as well as cook some amazing dishes with lots of gochujang! She dreamed of one day living in South Korea as an English teacher and to help her be immersed in the language, her phone was translated into Korean.
Some of Lauren’s favorite TV shows were Bob’s Burgers, RuPaul, Criminal Minds, and Korean TV. Her favorite movies include the Lion King, Lord of the Rings and Space Jam. She had the unnerving ability to watch a movie or show once or twice and be able to recite many of the lines and dialogue.
During her sophomore year in high school, she was selected to be part of the Student Ambassador program which is a select group of high school students that are chosen to travel to Europe to share political, cultural and learning experiences in London, Venice, Austria and Greece, among other locales.
Lauren is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Brown; maternal grandfather, Harold Jones; and uncles, Brad Jones and Calvin Brown.
Lauren is survived by her loving parents, Michael Brown and Brenda Jones; brother Calvin; grandparents, Mildred and Leon Ward; aunts, Shirley Goines, Brenda Towe, Barbara Guest, Karen Weisinger (Jeff), Carol Jones-Hawkes (Robert), and Leslie Jones-Rimmer (Jon); uncles, Lewis Brown (Joanne), Joel Brown, and Al Brown(Evelyn); and a host of cousins and friends, all of whom Lauren loved very dearly.
A memorial service will be held on November 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Lauren’s brother, Calvin Brown. A donation will be made in Lauren’s name to a non-profit organization. Venmo: @calvin-brown-8.
