Raleigh - LaVonne Mangum Bagwell, 89, a devoted wife and mother, died peacefully Saturday morning at home while surrounded by her loving family. A native of Wake County, she was the middle of six children of Robert and Erma Mangum. She is predeceased by her husband, Emmet Dallie Bagwell and son, James Emmet Bagwell, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 am at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service in the Faith Center. Surviving: a daughter, Mary Ellen Byrd and her husband Jim of Raleigh; sons, Dr. Johnny Bagwell and his wife, Betty, Gerald Bagwell and his wife, Catherine, and Randy Bagwell, all of Raleigh; a brother, Royelle Mangum of Garner, 14 grandchildren, 32 great -grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church at 6020 Rock Quarry Road, Raleigh, NC 27610. The family would like to give a special thanks to the kind staff of Heartland Hospice and Stallings Dialysis Clinic in Clayton.
