Lawrence E. Nichols

GARNER – Lawrence Edward Nichols, 86, passed away on Wednesday at the Hefner VA Medical Center, Salisbury, NC from heart complications. Mr. Nichols lived out his final years with his son and daughter-in-law in Monroe, NC. A native of Norfolk, Virginia, he was the son of the late Henry and Ethel Pinter Nichols. Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Monday, December 31, 2018 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel in Garner, NC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00am -12:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh, NC. Mr. Nichols is survived by his three children, daughter, Kathy Macialek of Franklinton, NC; sons, Lawrence (Larry) E. Nichols, Jr. of Monroe, NC and Richard H. Nichols of Middlesex, NC; sister, Beverly Wiggins of Loxley, AL; his 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann “Peggy” Nichols in 2005. Flowers are welcome to be sent to the funeral home. Lawrence will be remembered for his love for his family and kindness to others. He was such a honest, hardworking man and we will all miss him dearly.
