Lawrence(Larry) Lancaster, Jr., 95, passed away peacefully at home Friday, August 6, 2021. He was a loving father and dedicated husband. Lawrence was born October 11, 1925 in Dunn, NC to the late Joseph Lawrence and Bessie Garris Lancaster. He grew up in Belhaven, NC which always held a special place in his heart. Lawrence spent more than 67 years with his wife Harriet Lancaster, the love of his life, until she passed in 2015. Lawrence served three years in the Navy during World War II. He worked for Wachovia Bank &; Trust Co. from 1948-1961 and then joined Carolina Power & Light Co. where he became Corporate Secretary. He retired from CP&L in 1990. He was a longtime member of Garner United Methodist Church and a faithful member of the Garner Lion’s Club. Lawrence is survived by his daughter, Debra Ann Lancaster of Raleigh; son, Larry Lancaster and wife, Lynn of Raleigh; Nephew, Bill Booth of Richmond, VA; great nephews, Tyler and Luke Booth, who knew and loved him as their Granddaddy; as well as his granddog, Cody. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road Garner, NC 27529. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 9, 2021, at 2:00PM, at Garner United Methodist Church, 201 Methodist Dr. Garner, NC 27529. Burial at Montlawn Memorial Park will follow. Memorial Contributions may be made to Garner United Methodist Church, 201 Methodist Drive, Garner, NC 27529 or the Garner Lions Club.
