Lenora "Peggy" Mooneyham Bridges

FUQUAY-VARINA – Lenora “Peggy” Mooneyham Bridges, affectionately known as “Aunt Granny,” age 101, formerly of Raleigh, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, November 24, 2024.

She was born in Johnston County on April 9, 1923, the daughter of the late Bonnie G. Mooneyham and Ollie Kirks Mooneyham. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, J. Milton Bridges; sisters, Louise Durkin and Bonnie M. Hankel; brothers, J.S. Mooneyham and Graham B. Mooneyham; and her sister-in-law, Edna Bridges Beaver.

Peggy is survived by her brother, Bobby J. Mooneyham of Fuquay-Varina, formerly of Raleigh; sister, Brona M. Gill of High Point; God-children, Scott Mooneyham and Julie Mooneyham Stevens; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh.
