RALEIGH - Linda Elaine Wallace Turner Dolphin, January 12th, 1950 – February 20th, 2022, leaves behind a legacy of selfless love. Linda believed in simplicity but she wasn’t a simple person. The daughter of an accomplished educator and broker, Rose and Leonard Wallace, she grew up to become a real estate extraordinaire and a teacher both in and out of the classroom. She was stubborn and sweet. She believed in a bargain but never compromised on her values. Her resiliency led to building a foundation that provided for families. She raised her kids in the Bay Area, California with her sister and life partner, Patricia McGovern. She loved the fathers of her children: Leonard Turner Sr father of Leonard and Lia Carrie, and John Dolphin, father of Alia. And if you were afforded the privilege of meeting her, you too would fall in love. She wasn’t impressed by status. It was never about what you did, it was about how you did it. She was impressed with perseverance and execution. Her discerning wisdom cut deep. A smart professional who wasn’t beneath the little things, she used her intelligence to help others, not hoard over them. She never gave up hope on a person’s ability to change. To her, there were no broken people, just people who had forgotten their power. She volunteered and cared about her community. She demonstrated her compassion daily but wasn’t afraid to speak the truth in the face of evil or those who would do wrong. Linda did not follow trends, instead she blazed trails and her fires were swift and exact. Her wit was sharpened by her whimsical humor. There were no lack of rebuttal nor reprieve, she did it her way unapologetically. And it made those around her better for it. She practiced unabashed honesty. Even when she left her physical form there wasn’t hesitation nor trepidation, she was content and went boldly into the spiritual realm. Linda’s essence will live on through her sister, Patricia; son, Leonard and wife Karla; daughter, Lia Carrie; daughter, Alia and husband Andrew; grandchildren Mia, Leo, Madison, Mackenzie, and Malia; nephew Nathan; niece Catherine and husband Worth; nephew John and wife Lizeth; grand nieces and nephews Poole, Amiri, Logan, Atlas, and Grace. AS well as the hundreds of extended relatives and blended families. Her gift of knowledge remains with the thousands she taught. Her kindness was felt by the tens of thousands and she gleefully fed Sneaky the Mordecai cat with a daily buffet. The many faces of Linda will be remembered, especially her vivid and regal smile. And while many will certainly miss her, she would tell you: Keep thinkin’. Keep livin’. Keep it movin’. Funeral arrangements are by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home of Raleigh.
