Linda Kalwara

May 10, 1942 — February 21, 2025

Linda "Faye" Kalwara, 82, went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 21, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville. Faye was born May 10, 1942 in Johnston County to the late Clifford and Ruby Dupree.

Faye was a loving wife, first and foremost. She was also a devoted mother who treasured her children and loved them fiercely. She especially loved her role as a caring "Mema" to 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Faye had the biggest personality and always made those around her feel loved. Her sweet spirit, fiery sass, twinkling eyes, and contagious laugh made her home the favorite gathering place for family and friends alike, through the years. She carried wisdom in her gentle hands and soul-healing comfort in her hugs.

Above all else, Faye's deep and abiding faith in God guided every aspect of her life. She served tirelessly in church, her whole life, and lived as a shining example of God's love. Her well-worn Bible testified to her daily commitment to prayer and scripture. She never missed an opportunity to share His love with others. Her unwavering faith sustained her through life's trials and provided a beautiful model for her family.

She is survived by the love of her life, Michael Kalwara. Her sister, Brenda Ward; Her three daughters, Glenda Pollard, Charlene Jackson, and Ranae Strickland (Eric); and grandchildren, TJ Pollard (Sarah), Jeremy Pollard, Cleo Jackson Jr. (Lester), Crystal Butts (Paul), Butch Adams III (Shawna), Cindy Jackson (James), Brittney Cotten (Jack), Clifford Adams (Brianna), Carrington Anderson (Josh), Brenna Knudsen (Connor), and Ethan Strickland (Maegan). She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Clifford Dupree and Sandy Jones; her son, Butch Adams Jr.; and granddaughter Melissa Hendrickson.

Her visitation will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 10:00 to 10:45 am in the Stoney Run Church, 12481 Harnett-Dunn Highway, Dunn, NC 28334.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Stoney Run Church with burial to follow in Johnson Family Cemetery.
