Lisa Leshman

FUQUAY-VARINA – Lisa Leshman, 96, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023.

She was born in Kremenchug, Ukraine on February 11, 1927, the daughter of the late Moses Bolshun and Sonia Levitin Bolshun. Lisa was a holocaust survivor, later immigrating to the United States.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Tonia Perel; and brother, Joseph “Lonya” Bolshun.

Lisa is survived by her loving family which includes her daughter, Nadine Gershman and husband, Albert; son, Joseph Blaine and wife, Sandra; step-daughter, Fran Steinman and husband, Donald; grandchildren, Amy Gershman, Danny Gershman, Andrew Gershman and wife, Taylor; great-grandchildren, Terry Gershman, Lila Gershman, Noelle Gershman; step-grandchildren, Dustin Palay, Jarred Palay and wife, Pamela; step-great grandchildren, Julia Palay, Jake Palay, Blake Palay, and Olivia Rose Palay; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 30, 2023, in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh with Rabbi Ariel Edery officiating. Burial will follow in the Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beth Shalom Educational Fund, 5713 Yates Mill Pond Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606.
