Lizzie Mae Thompson went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, February 19, 2017. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born in 1920 to Robert and Lela Etheridge. She was a graduate of Spring Hope HS. She worked at Dorothea Dix, the A&P store, Ridoutts Nursery, and Wake Christian Academy. An elder in her church, she was a member of Sunday school classes for over 50 years with multiple years of perfect attendance. She was also recognized for ladies work and contributions to the church. She had a pretty smile and if you tasted her fried chicken and chocolate pie it would put a smile on your face as well. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Thompson and brothers, Malcolm and Russell Etheridge. She leaves behind daughters, Hilda Holston and Janice Pruitt; one grandchild, Hal Pruitt, Jr. and wife, Kim Pruitt; great grandchildren, Seth and Monica Pruitt; sister in law and brother in law, Ruth and A.W. Ross; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the Bryan Lee Funeral Home from 7pm to 9pm Wednesday. A funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday at Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
