GARNER- Lloyd Douglas Jones, 74, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on July 12. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, “Dock” Watson and Carletta (Creech) Jones, of Smithfield; his first wife, and the mother of his sons, Josephine Dixon Jones. The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:30pm on Monday, July 15th at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. A graveside service will be held following the visitation at 1:00 pm at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. He is survived by his wife, Alma Jones; sons, Ronnie Jones (Hope) and Dwight Jones (Denise); grandchildren, Britney (Ricky) Buffaloe, Travis Jones, Austin (Ashley) Jones, Adam Jones, Ayden Jones; great-grandchildren, Davis, Wyatt, Clara Jo and Brooks Buffaloe. Also, many clients and close friends that were considered family. In addition to his parents and first wife, Doug was preceded in death by his brothers, D.W. Jones and Charles Jones. Doug was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC where he earned his degree in accounting. He owned and operated his private CPA firm for 48 years. He served faithfully as a Deacon and Adult Sunday school teacher for 40 plus years. He looked deep into hearts to see only the good in everyone he ever met. His desire was to see people enjoying the salvation of his one and true living God. He enjoyed seeing people smile and gave encouragement and financial advice to whomever he met. He was a unique man full of wisdom and faith. He was a man of many talents. He also enjoyed many years working on his farm where he found much joy and fulfillment. His work ethic, whether in his office or on the farm, was seldom matched and is part of the legacy he leaves to all who knew him.
