Lois Jackson Bryan, 97, passed away on Thursday. A native of Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Annye Lou Honeycutt Jackson.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 3:00 pm at New Bethel Baptist Church in Garner. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place Monday at 2:00 pm at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Godwin.
Lois grew up helping on the family farm and was very proud of her academic achievements and the many trophies she won playing basketball. She worked as a nurse and nursing supervisor for over 40 years. After her retirement, she earned multiple Associate Degrees from Wake Tech. She believed you should never stop learning. She also participated in Bible studies at several area churches, where she was counted on to have a ready supply of hard candies. Lois was known for her servant heart, always eager to lend assistance.
Lois is survived by her sons, Paul Lee Bryan III and wife, Jill, of Spring Lake; Andy Bryan and wife, Sarah, of Lillington; and her granddaughters, Kristina, Katherine, and Elizabeth Bryan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband P.L. Bryan and her two sisters, Merrill Bizzell and Martha Jackson.
