Lois Smith Byrd Pierce

GARNER- Lois Smith Byrd Pierce, 81, passed away Friday at her home. Born in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Leola West Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lacy J. Byrd; their two infant children, and a step-son, William Pierce. Lois was employed by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles for 35 years. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner with the Rev. Earl West officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Benson. She is survived by her husband, William “Billy” Pierce, sister, Jean Page of Dunn; nephew, Ricky Page of Roseboro; niece, Patty Rowland of Dunn; step-daughters, Lynn Smith and family of Fountain and Rebecca Higgins and family of Erwin. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
