Lonnie Mills

Lonnie Mills, 79, passed away Sunday, February 25th, 2024, due to heart complications.

Born in Pitt County July 27th, 1944 to Jasper and Sudie Mills, Lonnie is survived by Donna, his loving wife of 40 years, children Gerard (Kim), Yashica (Nick), Jason, Melissa, Sarah and Benjamin. Grandchildren Shae, Ajay, Ramon, Alana, Alejandro, Myles, step-grandchild DeShaun and great-granddaughter Callie.

Lonnie is also survived by his seven siblings, Cora, Ronnie, Carolyn, Sheila, Jasper, Corrine and Wanda. He was preceded in death by his sister Earline.

Lonnie was a caring, good-natured person who never met a stranger and was always happy to make a new friend. He enjoyed nature photography, fishing and working in the yard. But more than anything he loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son-in-law and he will be greatly missed by many.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm prior to the service.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either The American Heart Association or The American Kidney Fund or The Salvation Army.
