Lori Dean Fuquay

October 5, 1966 — January 14, 2013

Lori DeAn Fuquay, 46, went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2013, after a courageous and lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born on October 5, 1966 in Raleigh, NC.She was a graduate of Garner High School and was employed for many years with the State, at the Dorothea Dix Hospital as a secretary and medical transcriptionist. She was forced to take an early medical retirement from Dix due to her MS, but left a host of friends and co-workers who donated many of their own vacation hours to her when she became unable to work. She enjoyed her duties and was an excellent typist. She was honored by the hospital by being selected to type a new hospital manual for her division.Although unable to attend in the last several years, Lori was a member of Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church.She was preceded in death by her father, David H. Fuquay, Jr.; step-father, Al Morrow; grandparents, Marguerite (Peggy) and Henry Fuquay.Survivors include her son, Noah Jacob Turbyfill; mother, Harriet Fuquay-Morrow; brother, David A. Fuquay and wife, Yeli of Clayton; step-brother, Ryan Morrow of Durham; sister, Kim Koehl; nieces, Shelly Watkins and Rachael Savage; nephew, Henry Fuquay; great-niece, Addeline Rose Watkins; aunts, Martha F. Searle of Albuquerque, NM, Hazel P. Nowell of Raleigh and Bobbie Crocker of Norfolk, VA; special friends and extended family, Annette & Dale Turbyfill and ex-husband, Joe Turbyfill of Raleigh. A memorial service will be 1:00 pm Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church, 4926 Fayetteville Road, Raleigh, NC 27603. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Burial will be private at a later time.
