Lou graduated from Buies Creek High School in 1966 and retired from working as a dental assistant after 48 years, that's why she loved to see people smile. She was a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother, a sister, a daughter and a friend. But if you asked her, her most important role was that of a Mama and Mema. She will be remembered for taking care of others, always putting others first, even in her own sickness, she would ask others how they were feeling. She will also be remembered for her wildly entertaining stories of growing up on a farm, and for cheering from the stands or bleachers at ballgames. She attended every event, every milestone, sent a card for every occasion and if you were really lucky, she made you her world- famous strawberry cake. But mostly, she will be remembered by being a strong woman, with a heart of gold that would do anything for others just to make them smile or feel special. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and cooking for a crowd. If you were blessed enough to know Lou, you knew that she truly loved her family unconditionally and that love is woven through every fiber of the fabric of her family.
