Louise Linck

TAMPA, Fla. - Louise Linck, age 87, passed away peacefully from natural causes on Oct. 3, 2021. Born in Manhattan, NY and raised in Astoria, Queens NY, Louise was the youngest child of the late Frances H. Bretana and Frederick Bretana, Sr. After completing her education, Louise worked as a bookkeeper for a boutique dress shop on Madison Ave. in NYC. Louise was married almost 60 years to Frederick M. Linck, Jr. who predeceases her. They lived in Queens, NY when first married, and moved to Long Island as their family grew. Louise was an excellent dancer, and sewed many of her children’s clothes. She was an active volunteer as president of the local chapter of the Christian Mothers. Once her children were all in school, she enjoyed her position as the bookkeeper for Colonial Furniture Store. Louise retired with her husband in Raleigh, NC. They enjoyed square dancing, travel, visiting their children and socializing with their friends. Louise was a devoted mother to her six children, Janet Mikowski (Jim), Karen Ficarrotta (Bennie), Irene Linck (Tom Sutherland), Michael Linck (Terri), Louise Nance (Nelson), and Virginia Desimine (Nick); loving grandmother of 16 grandchildren, Justin, Evan, John, Anthony, Justine, Kate, Natalie, Jacob, Ian, Janeene, Andrea, Kathryn, Amanda, Nicholas, Victoria and Rachel; 10 great grandchildren, Finnegan, Kira, Eden Grace, Glory, Jayden, Aiden, Ethan, Jacob, Alice and Emelia; and two surviving sisters-in-law Jenny and Anna. Louise was also loved for her gentleness by her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Edna and brothers Fred and Walter. The family so appreciates the support Louise received at her home at Discovery Village, especially the caring support of Kelsey. A Celebration of her life will be held in the near future. Memorial gifts in Louise’s honor can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or Children’s Tumor Foundation. Private entombment will take place at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh.
