Lucy Roberts Liles Moore

CLAYTON - On Monday, Lucy Roberts Liles Moore, 93, passed away peacefully in her home with her loving granddaughters, Lynn and Rachael.  She was born in Wake County to the late Samuel Aaron Liles and Annie Roberts Liles.  Lucy graduated from Hugh Morson High School and later married the love of her life, Lewis Arch Moore, Jr. Lucy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.  She was a loyal member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church for many decades.  When she wasn’t feeding birds, or shooting squirrels, she would often be found reading a book.  Those who knew and loved her will miss her quick-wit and sense of humor. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 3rd, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, 3000 E Garner Rd, Raleigh 27610.  Burial will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 pm at the church prior to the service. Surviving: son, Donald Barry Moore and wife, Elaine of Clayton; daughter, Emily Moore Hill; daughter-in-law, Mershon Moore; and grandchildren Lynn (Jeffrey), Richard (Monika), Rachael, and Brad (Pinchy); many great-grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Lucy was preceded in death by her son, Samuel Arch Moore; sisters: Gertrude Bordeaux, Lola Patrick and Rebecca Purdue; brothers: Russell Liles and Charles Liles.
