Ludella Searcy Johnson

ANGIER - Ludella Searcy Johnson. 97, daughter of the late Albert and Mary Searcy, was born in Angier, North Carolina on August 22, 1916 and died May 9, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Thurman M. Johnson, daughter, Mary Currin, sons-in-law, J. B. Currin and Kenneth Moore, great grandchildren, Laura Anne Singletary, Harry Hughes, Everett Hughes and Lucas Currin. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, May 11, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. She is survived by daughters, Annie Ruth Moore of Clayton, Mamie Hughes (Melvin), and Patricia Johnson of Angier; sons, Huey Johnson (Janice) and Jerry Johnson (Benette) of Angier, grandchildren, Joe Currin (Carolyn) of Benson, Regina Johnson of Lillington, Sharon Penny (Donald) of Garner, Webster Moore (Joanne) of Willow Spring, Christopher Moore (Angela) of Knightdale, Cindy Abercrombie (Wade) of Concord, Monica Singletary (Macon) of Raleigh, Meleta Nobles (Charlie) of Raleigh, Kim Nicholson (Daniel) of Morehead City, Jon Hughes (Amy) of Alpharetta, Ga., Stephen Dorman (Wendy) of Angier, and Eli Johnson (Meredith) of Farmville; thirty great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Lennie Searcy of Charlotte and Jacob Searcy (Deloris) of Durham.
