Angier- Lyman Danziel Gregory, 89, passed away peacefully at home Thursday surrounded by his loving family and caregiver, Cindy. Lyman farmed, held many positions at the US Postal Service in Angier and retired as a rural route carrier after over 40 years. He was as a lifelong member of Neill’s Creek Baptist Church serving as a Deacon and on many other committees. One of many of his noted efforts in the community was while serving the Town of Angier. He and his committee, along with the Woman’s Club of Angier planted Crepe Myrtles which resulted in the branding of Angier as “The Town of Crepe Myrtles.” In his last couple of years Lyman was confined to a wheelchair due to severe arthritis, diabetes, and Parkinson’s disease, but was always willing to share a laugh, his knowledge of history, farming and other topics with anyone who spent time in his presence. Many thanks to Liberty Home Care and Hospice, caregiver Cindy, neighbors and friends who helped the family during his illness.
