Lynn Franklin Stephenson

ANGIER – Lynn Franklin Stephenson, 89, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 14, 2022. Born in Wake County, he was the son of the late Zoe Coats Stephenson and Minnie Honeycutt Stephenson. Lynn was very proud of his father’s work as a local farmer. Lynn was a talented woodworker who enjoyed creating children’s rocking chairs and wooden trays. He was a “jack of all trades” who knew how to fix just about anything. In addition to woodworking, he was also a licensed auctioneer and electrician, and a Master Mason with the local Masonic Lodge. He was active in his church, Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church, as an Elder and Deacon and could always be counted on by the children at church to have some Juicy Fruit gum in his pocket. Lynn never met a stranger and could talk to anyone, and he loved sharing his faith in the Lord. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 16th at Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church; pastors Luke Copeland and Matt Rice will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Fellowship Community Cemetery, Angier. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, July 15th, at Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church, as well as at other times at their home. Lynn is survived by his wife of 65 years, Brookie Stephenson, the love of his life; daughter, Beverly Peters (Bill); daughter-in-law, Kim Stephenson; grandchildren, April Baier (Tim), Zackary Stephenson (Carolina), Brandi Baker (Joe), Matthew Stephenson (Alex); great-grandchildren, Autumn, Lucas, Brady, Sammy, and Dorothy; and several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and siblings, Lynn is preceded in death by his son, Terry Stephenson.
