GARNER – Lynn Inscoe Rice, 69, died Sunday at Wake Medical Center. A longtime resident of Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Jack (Sarge) and Julia Inscoe. Lynn graduated from Garner High School in 1965 and Bowman Gray School of Nursing in 1968 where she earned her RN degree. She received her pediatric practitioner degree from the University of Southern California at San Diego. She worked as a nurse practitioner with Capitol Pediatric and Adolescent of Raleigh until her death. Lynn loved her job working with children and was respected and admired by her professional colleagues. She was devoted to her family. She loved to read, watch NFL games, and she was an avid fan of Turner Classic Movies. Lynn was a caring, generous person who will live on forever in our hearts. A funeral service will be held Thursday, 2:00 pm at Highland Baptist Church, 8524 Crowder Road, Raleigh, NC. Surviving are her sisters, Susan Inscoe of Greensboro, Melba Inscoe of Raleigh and Kim Inscoe Thompson (Jimmy) of Garner; brother, Tom Inscoe (Kathryn) of Cary. Also surviving are her nieces, Morgan Inscoe and Kourtney Landen; her nephews, Jack Thompson and Eric Inscoe, and her beloved great-niece, Kaylee “Cat-bird” Landen, and special child, Xara Lynn Scott. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner and at other times at her home.
