Mom had an unwavering faith in GOD. She was a strong witness for Christ, a devoted prayer
warrior and a Blessing to many. We were the recipients of her desire to provide us with a
Christian home full of warmth and love. She was the last person to acknowledge her gifts and
strengths, but we experienced her excellence in the kitchen, baking her famous chocolate,
pecan and strawberry pies to share with family and friends, serving in her church activities,
refinishing furniture and working in her garden. She was also a talented seamstress, enjoyed
her travels throughout the US and cherished her daily walks with the love of her life, Jack. She
had a happy and full life, and we are so grateful that she was our Mom.
We would like to express our gratitude to Mo, Elaine and the lovely team of ladies at Avendelle
Assisted Living in Rolesville for the care and kindness that they showed Mom during her stay
there. They made her feel like family and supported her through the last year of her life’s
journey.
We would also like to thank Judy Welsh of Duke Hospice. She was always available to check on
Mom and provide care and direction for her comfort and our peace of mind. Our family
appreciates all of you and how you loved on Mom, as well as, how you cared for us.
A private family graveside burial service will be on Saturday, November 18 at Raleigh Memorial
Park.
