GARNER - Mable Lee Langdon Penny, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on October 9, 2023. A native of Johnston County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late William Alonzo Lonnie Langdon and Nola Ann Austin Langdon. Mable was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her faith and belief in the Lord was inspiring and shined brightly in all that she did.
In addition to her parents, Mable is preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Franklin Penny; sisters, Ruth Inez Langdon Brown, Dorothy Elizabeth Langdon Phillips, and May Lassiter; brothers, Rayford R. Langdon, Richard Wade Langdon, William Alonzo Langdon, and Hubert Langdon. Mable is survived by her loving daughters, Rhonda Penny Barbour, and Lisa Penny Blauvelt (spouse David Alan Blauvelt); and her 2 grandchildren: Christopher Edward Barbour (spouse Rachel Starr Barbour) and Jennifer-Blauvelt Carter (spouse Joseph Lee Carter), 3 great-grandchildren: Christopher Logan Barbour, Zachary Ryan Barbour, and Josie Leeann Carter.
Mable was truly the heart of her family. Her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren gravitated to her to share stories, enjoy meals with her and she loved going on adventures with family and friends. She radiated an incomparable warmth and love, and worrying more about her family members than herself, even as her physical ailments began to get the best of her.
Her family wants her to be remembered for these simple things: her faith and trust in God, her absolute perfect love for her family, how she worked hard all her life to provide for her family and her lifelong appreciation for all things sweet.
